Subscriptions to Early Canadiana Online provide the finances for Canadiana.org to continue digitizing pre-1920 Canadian documents. About 90% of the ECO subscription base is provided by 44 Canadian academic and research libraries through the Canadian Research Knowledge Network (CRKN) license agreement.
ECO collections contain pages of scanned Canadian historical documents. Subscribers have access to the complete ECO collections, and there is open access to about 40% of the collections. ECO presently holds three million pages, and content increases at a rate of over 250,000 pages each year.
Additional support to grow ECO is derived from microfiche sales, fundraising, the contributions of project partners and supporters as well as substantial in-kind support from Library and Archives Canada. For details, please refer to ECO Supporters and Contributors.
The subscription period runs from January to December. Both individual and institutional subscriptions are available. Institutional rates are based on the type and size of institution. All rates are listed in Canadian dollars. No international pricing; same price as Canadian.
To subscribe to Early Canadiana Online, determine your institution type and download the subscription form. A separate form exists for individual subscribers (see below). You may either print and return the subscription form by fax or mail, or you may complete the form electronically and return it by email.
